Sponsored by Houlihan Lawrence, the second annual Food Truck Fridays and More kick off in mid-May and will expand the number of evenings, the variety of food trucks and the types of musical acts.

The pilot program initiated last summer brought together residents from the area in an open and inviting event that drew people from neighboring communities into the business district, organizers said.

A big plus of the event was how visitors took the opportunity to get to know the restaurants and retail stores, lingering about afterward and returning to town in the following weeks.

Food Truck Fridays and More is the only regularly scheduled series of food truck events in the Northern Westchester area featuring multiple food trucks.

The series kickoff is scheduled for May 17, followed by events on June 21, July 19, August 16, and ending September 20, just prior to the Pound Ridge Partnership’s Harvest Festival.

This year there will be a total of five events, scheduled for the third Friday of the month from 5 to 9 p.m.

“Food Truck Friday is a magical community event," said Committee Chairperson, Melissa Kamen. "Old and young alike, all coming together to break bread and listen to live music."

With an eye towards increasing the variety and number of trucks, the committee will host some “healthy” food truck options as well as to help minimize the lines. There will now be a total of six trucks at each event, four savory and two sweet as well as signage indicating any “sell-outs”.

Music was an integral part of the neighborhood “feel” at the events, this year will be no different with four music acts and two open mic nights already scheduled.

Organized kids activities will also be available at each event, the first two will be in collaboration with the PRES PTA.

Food truck listings for each event will be posted a couple of weeks prior on the event’s Instagram account, Facebook event page on the Pound Ridge Partnership page and via email.
